Week 7 - July 7-11

A deer we saw while hiking in Hot Springs National Park during our Fourth of July weekend.

3 Accomplishments

1. I have a first draft of my entire paper! It is very, very rough, but it is completed.

2. I also have a draft of my presentation complete. I'll edit it based on how the practice presentations go.

3. I finished the AI chatbot in class. There are a few issues, but I'm glad I got the experience of making it.

3 Things Preventing My Best Work

1. I (along with the entire REU) was feeling sick this week, making it difficult to focus.

2. I had assumed we would have more independent work time this week. I was able to get my work done, but it was tight.

3. I am beginning to realize that the program ends next week, making everything seem much more real.

3 Things I Learned This Week

1. I learned about scholarly publishing, and how I may be able to publish my paper.

2. I learned how to create bivariate maps in QGIS, and was able to make one for my project.

3. I learned much more about my personal skills in time management, and how I can improve in the future.

Next Action Step:

I now need to go through my paper and edit. I also need to add in all of my citations, which I assume will be tedious to finish.
